In November of 2004, a unique traditional jazz band was assembled on short notice for a special festival celebration near Munich, Germany. The band was unique in that Canamger consisted of musicians from three countries: Canada, the U.S. and Germany. The band was dubbed "CANAMGER" (CANadian AMerican GERman jazz band). The band's musical arrangements drew from the best ideas of the four very different traditional-style bands represented in CANAMGER: the Buck Creek Jazz Band , the Charivari Jazz Band, the Grand Dominion Jazz Band, and the Toll House Jazz Band. In the winter of 2006 the band did a U.S. tour with ten concerts in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. In 2007 the band did another U.S. tour and also performed at the International Dixieland Festival in Dresden and then did a tour of Germany. In recent years the band has done winter tours in Florida (see below). In March of 2010 the band, with some personnel changes, will once again do their Florida tour.

WHERE'S THE DRUMMER? One of the appealing aspects of the Canamger Jazz Band
is its spontaneity and fresh approach to traditional jazz music. This comes
in part from the fact that the members of the Canamger Jazz Band are spread
around the world and are always looking forward with great anticipation to
each opportunity to perform together again. Another factor contributing to
the spontaneity of the group is that the band plays with a local drummer at
each performance site, usually a musical aquaintance of one of the band members.
That brings an additional bit of excitement and spontaneity to each performance.
During their 2006 US-Concert-Tour Canamger played with a drummer and friend
from England, Ray Cooper . Ray is very
a sensitive drummer and an outstanding performer. He made the band even more
international, with representatives from four countries (Canada, USA, Germany
and England) in the band.
During Canamger's 2007 tour of Germany (May, 2007 -- see Past and Future Appearances)
Vittorio Sicbaldi a very talented and experienced drummer from Cagliari,
Sardinia, Italy, was our drummer. For many of our Florida concerts, including
our 2010 concerts, Stan Mulder is our percussion man.
